1:1 Graduate Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant – Secondary – Learning and Behaviour
This fabulous Central Birmingham Secondary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative graduate to join their SEN team and support a Year 8 child who has learning and behaviour needs.
This is a crucial role whereby you will be supporting the SEN team to deliver learning and behaviour interventions for a Year 8 pupil you will be supporting daily. This is a vital role and is open to either a Psychology Graduate with theoretical and volunteer experience working with vulnerable children or young people or a top graduate who has a similar experience and desire to work in a SEN role for the academic year.

Have you always dreamed of one day becoming an educational psychologist or teacher, but realise you need school-based experience before getting on to this amazing course?
This Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for those with the career ambition to work within education either in teaching or educational psychology. You will be paid £60 – £65 per day and will have plenty of room to progress in this role. The SENCO in this school is highly driven and has previous experience mentoring members of her SEN to become qualified, experienced and knowledgeable members of the team.
The role is at an inclusive centrally based Secondary School in Birmingham and you will be supporting a Year 8 pupil who has cognitive learning difficulties and faces a number of barriers to learning. The school has an excellent training record, this year providing training to SEN graduate on speech and language intervention and autism awareness, amongst other training courses.
Part of your role will be to lead therapeutic interventions to improve behaviour and progress on a 1:1 and small group basis to encourage personal, social and academic development.
No two days will be the same and this role is extremely rewarding for someone who is willing to hit the ground running and has the resilience and empathy to make a difference in this role.
