1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant- Sandwell – Person specification
For this role you should have obtained a 2:1 degree, ideally in Psychology from a Russell Group University. Furthermore, you should be a kind and considerate person who is passionate about helping pupils with special needs. Although direct work experience isn’t essential, familiarity with key developmental disorders such as ADHD and an understanding how to best develop children with other needs such as non-verbal skills would be highly beneficial. Day-to-day you will be working closely with the SENCO to help implement strategies to ensure all pupils are helped to overcome educational barriers.

This friendly school is located in Sandwell and is really keen to expand its already reputable SEN team. The school is located within a five minute walk to local transport links as well as having a large car park that is ideal for commuters. The SENCo of this school is a highly passionate individual who has years of experience that they would love to pass onto a graduate who is equally as passionate about SEN as they are. The school has previously worked with graduates in the English and Science departments but now want to roll out the same initiate into a more SEN styled role. All of the graduates previously placed in this school have had a largely positive experience with a significant majority going on to future teacher training this academic year.
