1:1 Secondary School SEN Support Assistant – About the School & Key Information:
After a recent restructuring of staff, this school is now looking to build a new graduate team. Despite the changes this school has experienced, it has still maintained its warm environment and its excellent support network offered through its inclusion department. The role is full time school hours and being based in Wolverhampton getting to and from the school cannot be easier with the good transportation links throughout the area. Expect £300 – £350 per week term time also!
1:1 Secondary School SEN Support Assistant – The Role
Your role as a 1:1 SEN support assistant will entail offering close intervention sessions with individuals who require additional help with their academic and social progress within the school. You will monitor their progress as well as building on their learning, catering to their special educational need. According to a recent Ofsted report the school are currently developing their inclusion department and aiming to improve things. As a result, the school are introducing more SEN roles and they are looking for a passionate individual who wants to dive straight into their role and is keen to make an impact on the school!
1:1 Secondary School SEN Support Assistant – Person Specification:
- 2.1 or 1st class degree (preferably psychology)
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
- Previous work with children is desirable
- Supportive and inspiring personality
- Patient and empathetic mentality is crucial
- ‘Can do’ attitude and ambition to progress into teacher training
- Passionate about education
- Firm but fair behaviour management approach
