1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Paid School Experience – Primary School

This particular Primary School in the heart of Leeds is looking for a passionate and empathetic Psychology related degree graduate with the ambition of becoming a vital member of their SEN staff department, specialising in offering the best 1:1 individual support to pupils within the school with additional behavioural needs. In addition to this, you will be able to nurture and develop your teaching skills alongside from an array of experienced and supportive SEN staff members.

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Overview:

  • Working alongside a wonderfully supportive and talented SEN department
  • Under the tutelage of a brilliantly supportive SENCO
  • Working individually with children who have additional behavioural needs
  • Gaining personal experience on how to communicate appropriately with pupils
  • Offering the best emotional support to children with additional behavioural needs
  • Possible progression into teacher training scheme, provided by school!
  • Paid £300-£325 per week, term time only as 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

What do I need to apply?

  • To apply for this role you must have a minimum 2:1 Psychology degree
  • Passion and ambition to support and enhance emotional and academic ability of students
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally with students
  • Understanding a patient attitude towards child’s issues
  • Brilliant organisation and admin skills
  • Organising and conducting own 1:1 sessions
