As an Academic Learning Mentor, you will lend your support in your degree area, offering support across all Key stages, particularly KS4 & KS5 towards the end of the academic year in preparation for coursework deadlines and examinations. You will gain hands on experience, with the planning, preparation and implementation of class activities as well as the assessment of bespoke learning plans for those that require it. You will garner experience working with groups of students as well as on an individual basis.
An ideal Academic Learning Mentor will be able to communicate effectively with both students who are high achievers, and those that are falling behind their progress targets. Creativity and energy are paramount in order to successfully support students overcoming their progress barriers. You will be supported in your role by your Head of Department, who will oversee the management of your ongoing training and support.
