Academic Learning Mentor – Person Specification:
This school are looking to appoint an Academic Learning Mentor to work until the end of the academic year. You will be a recent graduate who has a good academic record. Ideally this school are looking to see graduates who are passionate about education and aspire to be teachers in the future. You must be confident in your communication methods and be able to inspire struggling students to love their subject.
Academic Learning Mentor – About the role:
In this exciting role you will be working closely with the Senior Leadership team and Teachers. You will work with targeted students who need that extra push to achieve their full potential. You will also work closely with year 11’s on the run up to their GCSE’s.
You will be required to deliver intervention sessions to individuals or to small groups of students in order to give them that extra push outside of the classroom. The teachers and Senior Leadership team will assist you along the way and you will liaise with them to ensure progress is being made.
Please note you do not need to have prior experience of delivering intervention sessions similar to this, however if you do have experience in tutoring this would be advantageous.
Academic Learning Mentor – About the School:
The exciting role is based in an 11-16 Secondary School located just East of Manchester. There is on-site car parking for those who drive and direct bus/tram routes from the city centre. There will be a number of other graduates working as teaching assistants who will be able to support you in your first few weeks of the role! A perfect opportunity for a graduate looking to get into teaching.
