Behaviour Learning Support Assistant – Overview:

  • Working alongside range of experienced and talented SEN staff members delivering academic and emotional support
  • Organising and conducting sessions based around specific needs and weaknesses of the student
  • Displaying and utilising subject knowledge throughout session to keep student calm and focused on education
  • Brilliant opportunity to gain classroom experience for aspiring Psychologist
  • Paid £300-£325 per week, term time only as Behaviour Learning Support Assistant

To be considered for this unique and key role you must firstly have obtained a minimum 2:1 Psychology degree, with a vast amount of academic knowledge in your degree subject. You must have a passionate and supportive attitude, ready to dedicate your working time to giving the best academic and emotional support to children with behavioural problems. You must have to ability to keep the student calm and focused on their work, however be able to deal with any challenging situations that may arise. Organisation and communication skills are also necessary, as throughout your specifically structured lessons you will be speaking to the pupil making sure to support them throughout.

The school itself is a supportive and inclusive environment, with the SENCO and Senior Leadership Team working together to make sure that every student is able to have the best opportunity at achieving academically, and have managed to obtain a number of talented and experienced staff members to provide them with that academic excellence. They have a wonderful SEN department, able to offer children with a range of learning difficulties and additional behavioural needs the right emotional care and support inside what could be a stressful environment. The school is easily accessible through a number of public transport links, and is commutable from across surrounding areas.
