Behaviour Teaching Assistant – Job Overview:

  • Working alongside talented and supportive SEN department in delivering the best academic and emotional support to the schools children with additional behavioural needs
  • Organising and conducting own individual and group sessions structured around the needs of the student
  • Displaying variety of Team Teach learned techniques and methods whilst aiding children in their education, being a key member of the schools SEN department
  • Working under the guidance and support of a wonderful SENCO
  • Working across subject spectrum
  • Paid £300-£325 per week, term time only
  • Immediate Start as Behaviour Teaching Assistant

More about the role:

In this unique and vital role you will be working under the guidance of a brilliant SENCO organising and delivering a variety of individual and group sessions display your Team Teach knowledge and techniques in developing and improving the academic and emotional ability of the schools children with additional behavioural needs. As well as this, you will be working across the subject spectrum offering support to students throughout, as well as making sure any queries or difficulties they may face are answered correctly and appropriately.

What you need to apply:

To apply for this unique and specialised role, you will firstly need to have obtained a Team Teach qualification with a variety of prior experience, giving you an insight into the challenges and different scenarios that may arise in your time at the school. Brilliant organisation and admin skills are a must, as individual and group sessions must be specifically structured around the student’s needs, allowing them to develop and improve any weak areas of their education. A patient and understanding attitude must be display, as dealing with challenging children you will need to have a calm and persuasive attitude in making sure they remain comfortable and focused inside what could be an unfamiliar environment for them. Adequate communication skills are also a must, as well as having a passion and motivation to improve the academic and emotional ability of children with additional behaviour needs.
