This reputable Greenwich secondary and sixth form are looking to appoint a dedicated graduate of Chemistry to join their successful science department. Historically, the school have a fantastic track record with GCSE results, specifically in Science and Maths. The school have strived to promote the value of well-rounded characteristics, offering a plethora of extra-curricular projects for their students to get involved in. A large proportion of sixth form students from this establishment go on to top universities and thus, the school are keen to assign Graduates who can act as exemplary role models of what can result from a passion and hard work.
You will have the opportunity to work across all Key Stages, supporting class teachers, in line with the Head of Departments visions and objectives. You will gain pedagogical experience first-hand and develop your engagement methods as you work with both small groups of students as well as supporting on a 1:1 basis. The school are looking for someone who has extensive knowledge and confidence in their degree subject, but ultimately they require a graduate who has energy as well as creativity and can prove to be a positive role model.
In your role as a Chemistry Academic Advisor, you will bring your subject knowledge and your passion for education. You will need to have a minimum of a 2:1 in your degree subject as well as strong A Levels, and any experience tutoring / mentoring young people would be highly advantageous.
