College maths lecturer – the role:

  • Start: September 2024
  • Permanent contract
  • Full-time
  • Responsible to assistant director
  • To plan and deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment on a range of courses in an appropriate area of the curriculum in line with college standards and meet awarding body expectations
  • To implement curriculum and course development and curriculum delivery within the area of work
  • To develop schemes of learning and work (SOLW) /materials in line with course aims, objectives, mode of assessment and accreditation
  • To contribute effectively to teamwork in course delivery across programmes as necessary, including group tutorials for those on study programmes
  • To work within the course team to review the course and participate in the College quality assurance cycle and to complete course reviews and action plans
  • To attend regular course team meetings and to offer and provide support to team members
  • To be involved with course moderation/verification of assessed work

 

Candidate specification – what the college are looking for:

  • UK QTS
  • NQTs are welcome to apply
  • 2:1 or 1st class degree, in a relevant course
  • Strong academic background
  • Good to outstanding teacher observation grades
  • Strong classroom management
  • Comprehensive understanding of the A-Level maths curriculum
  • Strong experience of delivering to 16+ age group with varied abilities in an educational setting
  • Knowledge and experience of quality assurance, qualifications and risk assessments
  • Familiar with safeguarding and relevant procedures
  • Passionate about the learning and skills agenda
  • Accountable and Responsible
  • Able to build and sustain effective working relationships
  • Excellent communications skills with people at all levels
