Graduate Teaching Assistant – Early Years
–Full-time, Monday to Friday role

–Must have strong academic background & experience working with children
You will be supporting a busy and happy Reception classroom, helping children ages 4-5 to adapt, develop and thrive in their first year of school. You will be taking on additional personal support for some children who may not feel as confident or independent as their peers.
Part of this role will be to lead small group classes to develop a confidence and understanding of phonics, handwriting and personal development. The class teacher will provide you will all the resources needed to ensure these children and progressing as best they can. This school has a high proportion of EAL children, they will need help to boost their English. You will also support the class teacher in delivering phonics/writing sessions.
This child-centred school is looking for a caring, patient and empathetic nature, with strong communication and resilience. You will need to have a good academic background, with a minimum of a 2:1 degree and strong A Levels. Some transferable experience working with children and a commitment to working in education is extremely desirable.
