Person Specification – English Graduate Teaching Assistant
The ideal candidate will be an English Graduate who has achieved at least a 2.1 Degree from an excellent university, preferably Russell Group. You should have the drive and passion to become a future English teacher and actively contribute to pupils learning with your knowledge of the subject. This role requires a resilient person that is also able to empathise with students as you will be working with a range of students from various economic and social backgrounds.
About the Role – English Teaching Assistant
This English graduate teaching assistant post will allow you to support the learning of children within interventions in the English department and across the school. You will be specifically assigned to the English department suited perfectly to your degree classification and skill set. On a day to day basis you will be supporting pupils in small groups, or even 1:1, delivering booster sessions. The outstanding teachers who you work with will help you to develop and grow your school-based experience. Ideally you will have some experience working with young people, this experience does not necessarily have to be in a school-based setting, but any voluntary or other experience working alongside young people is advantageous such as tutoring or youth work/mentoring.
