The vibrant and cohesive English Department of this lovely Secondary School in Bromley are looking for a highly academic, graduate of English to support their team. You will need to have achieved a 2:1 or higher in English Literature, Language or closely related field. Ideally you will need to have had some experience working with young people in a tutoring or mentoring capacity, this is not an absolute prerequisite but would be advantageous. Essentially, as an English Teaching Assistant you will need to display confidence, energy and creativity in your support methods.
As an English Teaching Assistant, you will lend your support to both under achieving and highly academic students across KS4 & KS5. You will need to become adept at working on an individual basis with students as well as working with small groups. You will need to lend your fantastic communication skills to bringing out the best in young people, whether they are in a higher ability class or a lower ability class. In detail, you will attain experience in planning, delivery and implementation of lesson plans, individual and group objectives. As well as gathering pedagogical experience, you will witness first-hand the methods that class teachers employ working with young people on a holistic and pastoral level.
