English Teaching Assistant – Graduate Opportunity!
This role would suit a passionate and talented graduate of English who is looking to gain paid experience in a school based setting before embarking on a PGCE or other teacher training. You will need to have obtained a minimum 2:1 degree with strong A Levels too. Experience working with children or young people is necessary although it is not essential to have worked in a UK school before.
You will have the opportunity to work with experienced professionals within the English Department, giving you a realistic picture of life as a teacher and the working environment of a modern day Secondary school. Although challenging, the role as an English Teaching Assistant will be extremely rewarding, as you will be running small group interventions with pupils who need an extra boost in their learning – previous graduates have commented on the sense of pride they feel when their students obtain a higher GCSE grade than previously predicated!
