Graduate 1:1 Teaching Assistant

This Year 3 child is looking for a consistent and friendly face to work with her on a 1:1 basis in the classroom. The school are looking for an ambitious graduate that will give her the support and guidance she needs to thrive in school.
You will need to be patient and resilient when dealing with potentially challenging and disruptive behaviour, but also need to have an understanding of the importance of structure and commitment to a vulnerable child.
This school is looking for someone with strong literacy and numeracy skills – ideally a graduate in a core subject or Psychology. You will be enthusiastic and positive and want to make the most of every day for this child.
You will be working with this child in the classroom, assisting the teacher to deliver lessons and strategies and supporting her during 1:1 interventions. You will be required to build a strong and trusting relationship, in order to support academic and pastoral development. At times, the role will be challenging in terms of behaviour and understanding emotions, however if you are able to persevere and see a value in your role for this child, then this could be for you!
The school is located in Edgbaston and is easily accessible by a regular bus. If you are driving the school has onsite parking for all staff. It is a larger than average primary school and has fabulous community links. The school provide a collaborative and clear focus and welcome graduates on a long-term basis to potentially join them on their teacher training course, if this is the route you choose!
