Graduate 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary – SEMH

• 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant
• ‘Outstanding’ primary school
• Birmingham
• Paid up to £325 per week
• Long-term, full-time role starting as soon as possible
• Lower Key Stage 2 – Year 3
• Full training and support provided
• Shortlisting on an ongoing basis

The role will require you to work closely with a happy and lively boy in Year 3, who needs support and encouragement to stay motivated to achieve his potential. You will be supporting him during play times and within the classroom, as well as assisting the teacher in this challenging environment. He is in need of a caring, yet structured 1:1 support, who can support him to achieve his potential both academically and personally. There are specific interventions and structures in place to enable him to work successfully as part of the classroom and to integrate positively into the wider school environment.

This role ideally requires a resilient, motivated and committed graduate who is keen to work in a supportive 1:1 role within the classroom. You will be passionate about a career in teaching, and need to have relevant experience working with children with varied educational and behavioural needs and have excellent behaviour management and communication skills. Due to the nature of this role, previous experience working with children or young people in challenging environments is essential. This does not have to be in an educational setting, but would be extremely advantageous.
