Graduate Academic Mentor – Sixth Form Support Role:

Graduate Academic Mentor – Sixth Form Support – Role Information:

  • Create a purposeful learning environment
  • Support students with study skills and organisation
  • Liaise with outside agencies/other colleagues
  • Meet regularly with the head of Sixth Form
  • Identify and target-set to secure progress and attainment
  • Manage behaviour within the learning environment
  • Provide small group and one to one tutoring
  • Support the pastoral team with inductions
  • Monitor attendance and follow up on absenteeism

Graduate Academic Mentor – Sixth Form Support – Person specification:

  • Degree educated 2.1 or 1st
  • GCSE English and Maths (C or above)
  • Able to establish high expectations
  • Commitment to inclusion
  • Promote positive behaviour outcomes
  • Demonstrate a desire and energy to working with post 16 learners
  • Experience of working with young people and members of the public
  • Keen to work within education, perhaps as a teacher in the future
