Graduate Behaviour Teaching Assistant – Job Overview:

  • Working alongside an experienced and supportive SEN department intent on offering the best academic and emotional support to its pupils as a Graduate Behaviour Teaching Assistant
  • Gain an understanding of working with additional behavioural needs children, analysing behaviours and methods in which to support their learning
  • Helping organise and conduct structured sessions catered to the child’s needs
  • Work with both individuals and in group sessions
  • Utilise your own subject knowledge displaying your own learnt techniques and methods
  • Paid £300-£325 per week, term time only

More about the role:

In your role as a Graduate Behaviour Teaching Assistant you will be required to help aid and conduct individual and group sessions, identifying and structuring the lessons around the needs and requirements of each child. You will be displaying and utilising your vast subject knowledge, making sure the child feels safe and comfortable inside a school environment, allowing them to be fully focused on their education and achieving their full potential.

What do I need to apply?

To apply for this unique and brilliant role inside of a warm and supportive primary school you will firstly need to have obtained a minimum 2:1 Psychology related degree, as well as having a vast amount of subject knowledge. You will need to have a passion and motivation for educating children, which in turn will make sure the child is focused and inspired to do well in the particular subject you will be aiding them with. Brilliant organisation and admin skills are necessary as you will be organising and conducting your own specifically structured lessons, as well as using your communication skills to keep the child calm and comfortable throughout the session.
