This is an exciting opportunity to cut your teeth as a GCSE English Mentor, supporting KS4 students in a modern and vibrant secondary school. The role is multifaceted and dynamic as you will find yourself mentoring students who vary in aptitude and skill set. Your role will see you work closely with students who require additional help due to lack of confidence with subject matter and you will also be working with students who are gifted and talented and require more challenging exploration. Day to day you will find yourself working with small groups of students and students on a 1:1 basis as they work towards their learning objectives.
The school have invested a lot of time into the development of their ambitious graduates, and have offered alternative routes into teaching for those who aspire to be future teachers. From the get go, full support and training will be offered and a mentor will be on hand to provide full guidance.
The school are looking for an individual who has a strong academic background, a minimum of a 2:1 in their English degree and strong A Levels. A stellar GCSE English Mentor will be ambitious and passionate about education, with the ability to adapt their excellent communication style to suit the needs of their students.
