Graduate English Mentor – English Academic Coach – Immediate start

Graduate English Mentor- Person specification

For this role you will need a 2:1 degree in English ideally from a Russell Group University. Furthermore, you will have gained some form of work experience that has involved working with children- not necessarily in a school setting. You also need to be a passionate graduate who genuinely cares about English and providing students with expert knowledge to help them succeed in future examinations. You will also need to be personable, confident and dynamic to really succeed in this role.


Graduate English Mentor – About the role

The Graduate English Mentor role will be of paramount importance to this school in September. With a growing English department a Graduate English Mentor will assist with a variety of lessons across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Furthermore you will be responsible for providing 1:1 and small group interventions to help assist with students who are struggling with English to make sure they achieve their target grade.

This school is a high achieving secondary school based in the centre of Sandwell. The school has a large intake of students from diverse backgrounds and a large number of students who have English as an additional language. The school also has a very supportive head teacher and senior leadership who all are very keen to start working with graduates that share their passion for education.
