About the Role:
You will be running activities to support pupils with additional learning needs that can occasionally display challenging behaviour. In order to engage and interact with other students and staff appropriately, you will be delivering interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis to set targets and monitor progress with the children you are supporting.
Your primary role within the classroom will be to deliver the curriculum alongside the teacher to enable your focus group to access the same curriculum and make the most of their education. There will be focussed and tailored strategies implemented to keep them on track and engaged in their work.
This role ideally requires a resilient, motivated and committed graduate who is keen to work in a supportive academic and pastoral role inside and outside of the classroom. You will be passionate about a career in education, and ideally have relevant experience working with children with varied educational and behavioural needs, as well as developed behaviour management and communication skills.
You will have a minimum of a 2:1 degree, with strong A Levels. For this role, it is important that you are able to think on your feet and learn new skills and strategies quickly.
