As a Learning Support Assistant you will be working 1:1 and in small group sessions with children who may have special educational needs. There will be children who have a range of needs, some may be on the Autism Spectrum and have emotional, social or Mental Health difficulties. Other children may have physical disabilities so may require a different level of support. You should be a confident, emphatic and versatile individual who can be understanding to individual children’s needs and support them in an appropriate manner.
This Learning Support Assistant role would ideally suit someone who is considering a role as a future teacher or educational psychologist as the experience you will gain in this role will be invaluable to helping you progress within your future career.
You should have some experience previously working with young people which will be transferrable into a school based setting.
