Perhaps you have had previous experience of working with children with Autism and wish to develop your experiences further in a paid long-term role?

This school is looking for a hardworking and resilient individual, your main role will be to deliver 1:1 intervention sessions and support pupils with Autism, where you will provide both educational and social support as a Graduate Primary SEN Support Mentor.

Graduate Primary SEN Support Mentor – Key Information:

  • Primary school based in Sheffield
  • Full time, Monday – Friday school hours
  • Full academic year – until the end of July 2020
  • £300 – £350 per week (term time only)
  • Supportive inclusion department with good links to mainstream
  • Visionary and passionate SENCo

Graduate Primary SEN Support Mentor – The Role:

  • Graduate Primary SEN Support Mentor role
  • Support children with ASD
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group intervention sessions
  • Varied, demanding but exciting role
  • Ability to differentiate your approaches and strategies to support pupils with ASD
  • Be able to support children who have high anxiety
  • Fantastic ­­­inclusion department with experienced and supportive staff

Graduate Primary SEN Support Mentor – Person Specification:

  • 2:1 or 1st class degree – Psychology or core subjects desirable
  • Previous experience with Autism is essential
  • Resilient attitude due to the demanding setting
  • Supportive and inspiring personality
  • Patient and empathetic mentality is crucial
