Graduate Teaching Assistant – More about the role:

In this Graduate Primary Teaching Assistant role you will be working predominantly with a KS2 group of learners who need support to reach their potential. Many of the students you work with will be from disadvantaged backgrounds. You will need to communicate effectively and build rapport with a range of children. Some children may speak English as an additional language, whereas others may have a special educational need. It is therefore paramount that you can be flexible in your approach.

You will be supporting the KS2 learners within core subjects such as reading, writing and maths. You will plan and deliver intervention sessions to a high quality, following some initial guidance and training. Excellent support will be given to the successful graduate in this role. You will be mentored by an inspirational teacher who will give you guidance. If you wish to train to teach the following year, you will have the experience and knowledge required to either train to teach through this school’s teacher training network, or via a traditional PGCE route.
