Science Graduate Trainee Teacher – The School:

Situated in the Handsworth area of Birmingham, this school has good transport links and is accessible from Birmingham City Centre within 15 minutes.

There is a strong belief amongst senior leaders and other staff that no student should be left behind. In addition to this, the Science and Maths Departments have started a drive to increase the profile of STEM subjects in education and work and are strong ambassadors for the importance of these subjects in society.

It is crucial that you are positive about the future for all young people and are able to build strong rapport with the students of this school.

Science Graduate Trainee Teacher – The Role:

As a Science Graduate you will initially start in a support role, building upon your knowledge and skillset. You will be given foundation training as well as a dedicated mentor to learn from.

As you will be training to become a fully qualified Science teacher eventually, you will be expected to plan and deliver lessons within the Science department. You will have guidance from your mentor and it is important to be able to take on feedback reflectively and build upon feedback.

You will be supporting both higher and lower ability and will be expected to tailor your approach to their needs.
