In your role as a SEN KS4 Learning Support Mentor you will dedicate your time and skills to supporting students as they work towards their learning objectives. As you will be working with students who have SEN / ASD / EBD, it would be ideal if you have had some experience in this area, whether in a tutoring or mentoring capacity. Those who lack experience of supporting students with complex or additional needs still may be considered if they are able to display the right attributes. Ideally, you will need to have at least a 2:1 in a relative degree (core subject, psychology, educational studies, social work), some experience and a vision to work with young people long term.

 

An exceptional SEN KS4 Learning Support Mentor will be a fantastic communicator, energetic, compassionate, patient and adaptable. Day to day you will find yourself supporting students on a 1:1 basis, assisting them to overcome their educational, emotional confidence barriers to learning.
