This popular school in St. Albans is looking for a friendly, patient, and compassionate Graduate to join the team as an SEN Teaching Assistant. There may be opportunities to then train to teach on the school’s own programme if this is the career pathway you choose!

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – The Role

  • Opportunities to develop onto the school’s teacher training programme with QTS or gain experience needed to apply for a doctorate in Education Psychology
  • Earn £350-£450 per week
  • Full time Monday – Friday during term time
  • Leading 1:1 extra support and group work with SEN students
  • Mentored by lead teacher and i-teachers consultants team throughout
  • Hands on, invaluable classroom experience
  • Amazing experience with a range of different needs
  • Chance to develop specialism

 

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – The School

  • Focus on helping SEN children with life skills as well as academia
  • Community feel and supportive lead teachers
  • Excellent facilities including sensory room, library and technology room
  • Offers other support services for children such as occupational therapy

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Person Specification

  • 1st/2:1 degree, Psychology or closely related subjects preferred
  • Previous experience working with young people or SEN desirable
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to run group work and support lead teacher
  • Compassionate, caring and driven individual
  • Genuine interest in improving skills of students
  • Must be able to commute or easily travel to required area
