Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision

This school is looking for a hardworking and resilient individual, your main role will be to support those with SEMH and behaviour difficulties for pupils aged 11-16 years old.

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Key Information:

  • Alternative provision, part of an outstanding trust, based in Leeds
  • Full time, Monday – Friday school hours
  • Full academic year – until the end of July 2020
  • £300 – £350 per week (term time only)
  • Supportive department
  • Visionary and passionate SENCo

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – The Role:

  • Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role
  • Alternative provision school – not mainstream
  • Support pupils with SEMH and behaviour difficulties
  • Range of academic abilities from weak to very able
  • 22 pupil on roll, however only 15-18 pupils are in at once, split between two classrooms
  • You will be required to support at breakfast and lunch times also

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Person Specification:

  • 2:1 or 1stclass degree – Psychology or core subjects desirable
  • Previous experience with SEMH/SEN and/or behaviour required
  • Resilient attitude due to the demanding setting
  • Supportive and inspiring personality
  • Patient and empathetic mentality is crucial
