Graduate Support Mentor – Primary

Are you a psychology/core subject graduate who has a passion to support children academically?

Do you have a long-term goal of becoming an educational psychologist, or perhaps a primary teacher?

Would you thrive spending the upcoming academic year in a long-term paid role whereby you will be supporting children academically who are in Y6, transitioning into Y7?

Graduate Support Mentor – Key Information:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups
  • Support children academically across Y6
  • Paid £325 – £425 per week (term time only)
  • Long-term role, full academic year
  • Fantastic primary school with supportive staff
  • Excellent transport links
  • Leeds, West Yorkshire
  • Interviewing now for September start

Graduate Support Mentor – The Role:

  • Plan, deliver and assess 1:1 sessions
  • Build an excellent rapport with children
  • Monitor progress
  • Assist with academic work
  • Work collaboratively with other staff
  • Liaise with parents/carers when necessary
  • Gain invaluable experience

Graduate Support Mentor – Person Specification:

  • You must have a 2:1 or 1st class degree
  • Must have relevant work experience e.g. working with young people
  • A desire and interest to work with children
  • Passion for education
  • Want to potentially train to be a teacher
  • Available for a full-time position
  • Confident, calm and personable
