Graduate Teaching Assistant – Havering

Are you a graduate with a 2.1 or 1st degree from a top university?

Do you wish to pursue a career in education, perhaps training to teach in the future?

Before training to teach, would you first like to gain paid experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, whereby you will have a profound and positive impact upon the learning of students at this fantastic school?

Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • £350 – £450 per week
  • Long-term, full academic year contract
  • Mon-Fri, school working hours
  • Based in Havering
  • Gain invaluable education experience
  • Good commuting links via the C2C
  • Large, free staff car park
  • Teacher Training option (Gain QTS)
  • Interviewing ASAP for a September start (or sooner)

Graduate Teaching Assistant – Role Information:

  • Provide high quality support assistance
  • Work 1:1 and leading small group interventions
  • Aligned to the department linked to your degree
  • Support outstanding teachers
  • Gather and collate useful resources
  • Build a strong rapport with the students
  • Communicate effectively, including with colleagues and parents/carers
  • Assist with extra-curricular activities (linked to your interests/skills)

Graduate Teaching Assistant – Person specification:

You must:

  • Be a high achieving graduate
  • Possess a 2.1 or 1st degree
  • Ideally a core subject degree including English, Maths, Sciences, Humanities subjects, or Arts
  • Confident and effective communicator
  • Organised, diligent and efficient
  • Have some prior experience working with young people
  • Have a desire to train to teach in the future
