Have you graduated university with a psychology degree and are looking to support students, helping them overcome barriers to learning as a Pastoral Support Assistant?

Maybe you are looking to develop on your experience working with additional needs such as ADHD, autism, or mental health needs.

This Pastoral Support Assistant role is a fantastic opportunity to further develop your skills through paid experience prior to teacher training or a career in educational psychology. As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will be responsible for monitoring behaviour and helping to implement PLPs after developing professional relationships with your students and fellow staff.

Graduate Pastoral Support Assistant – The role:

• Full-time placement for the full academic year as a Pastoral Support Assistant
• Working Monday-Friday, term time only
• September start date
• £475-£525 a week
• Support pupils with additional needs
• Work closely with the SENCo department and help to develop PLPs as a Pastoral Support Assistant
• Monitor behaviour and attendance
• Follow tailored learning programmes
• Make a real impact on student’s lives

Graduate Pastoral Support Assistant – Person specification:

• University degree, 2:1 or higher with an education or psychology specialism
• Strong academic background
• Passion for education and working with young adults
• Previous experience working with young adults is required e.g. similar Pastoral Support Assistant or SEN/Caring experience
• Knowledge and/or experience supporting needs such as Autism/ADHD
