If so then please read on!  This Harrow primary school is looking to appoint a talented Psychology graduate to provide essential learning support to their pupils with SEND & SEMH.

Primary Learning Support Assistant

  • Full-time Learning Support Assistant
  • Graduate role – 2:1 degree or higher in Psychology
  • Previous experience working or volunteering with young people essential
  • Sound knowledge of Special Educational Needs in the classroom
  • Support pupils with SEN 1:1 and in small groups
  • Ideal experience for teaching, EP or social work
  • Opportunity to progress to school-based teacher training
  • Primary school located in Harrow
  • Earn £300-400 per week

This role will see you providing essential support to pupils with Special Educational Needs.  You will work closely with the school’s SENCO and visiting Educational Psychologist to carry out individualised learning plans for pupils.  You will liaise with class teachers to report on pupil progress.  You may also be working with pupils who have behavioural, emotional and mental issues.  You will need to be compassionate, driven and resilient with a genuine passion for supporting pupils experiencing barriers to education.

Strong communication and a good initiative are key to succeeding in this role.  You must have a Psychology degree along with excellent A levels and GCSEs.  It is essential you have shown commitment to supporting young people previously, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.

In this role, each day will be different and it will be as rewarding as it is challenging.  Crucially, you will be adding to your skills portfolio ensuring a competitive application should you pursue Educational Psychology, teaching or social work.
