Progress and Welfare Leader – Job Description

  • Support the academic progress of all students
  • Manage challenging and disruptive behaviour with the right attitude
  • Be accountable for student progress
  • Track student attendance for allocated year group and run appropriate intervention and parent meetings where appropriate
  • Monitor student-led plan of action for selected students
  • Create and adhere to student improvement plans
  • Liaise with SENCO and Aps regarding individual achievement and progress of pupils

Progress and Welfare Leader – Person Specification

  • GCSE (C grade or above) in Mathematics and English
  • Good A Levels
  • Excellent academic background
  • Experience of raising pupil attainment and aspirations
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence in working with students
  • Experience of working with young people aged 11-16
  • Good organisation skills
  • Some experience working with SEN/SEMH pupils would be advantageous
