This specialist secondary Academy in the heart of Leeds which focuses on the development and enhancement of their students with additional behavioural needs in regards to their education and SEMH ability, is looking to find an ambitious and Team Teach qualified candidate, willing to be a vital part of an already talented SEN team, and help support the student with additional behavioural needs.

Team Teach Teaching Assistant:

  • Working inside a specialist academy delivering the best academic and SEMH support to students with additional behavioural needs
  • Organising and conducting individual and group sessions structured around the specific needs of the student as a Team Teach Teaching Assistant
  • Utilising and displaying Team Teach skills and techniques in the development of students with additional behavioural needs
  • Working across the subject spectrum supporting class teachers in and out of lessons
  • Being a vital part of an experienced and talented SEN Support department
  • Paid £300-£325 per week, term time only

This secondary academy in the heart of Leeds specialises in providing the best education and support to their students with additional behavioural needs, and has acquired a number of talented and experienced staff members to do so. They believe in creative individualised learning which allows them to be patient and focused with their education, and lets them explore the subject and its full context with help and guidance at hand if required. They attempt to create a safe and comfortable environment for the student, and want to allow them the time and space they need when encountering challenging situations which will occur.

More about the role:

In this role you will be utilising your Team Teach knowledge and skill base in supporting the schools additional behavioural needs students, in and out of lessons making sure that they receive the best possible academic care and support. You will also be developing and conducting individualised plans for the students, in turn allowing them to work at a certain pace and gain a full understanding of the subject. You will be almost certainly involved in challenging and aggressive situations, where you skills and attributes that have been learned through the team teach programme will need to be utilised, in making sure the student remains calm and comfortable inside the school environment.

What do I need to apply?

To apply for this specialist role, you will firstly need to have obtained a team teach qualification with a number of strong A Levels prior to doing so. You will need to have extensive subject knowledge with brilliant organisation skills in the preparation and planning of creative individualised sessions allowing the student to perform to their full potential. You must have a passion for improving the education of additional behavioural needs students, and have good communication skills in challenging situations, which will allow you in turn to keep the student calm and focused utilising your team teach skills and attributes.
