Meet the team – Izzy

17/03/2023 | All

Over the next few weeks we are going to be doing a series of blog and social media posts to introduce our amazing team here at i-teachers! Our i-teachers family are passionate about making a difference within education and all have their own fantastic journey to share.

To kick us off, meet Izzy (me!). Izzy is our Talent Development Officer and has been with the i-teachers team since August 2020!

Tell us a bit about you!

Hi, I’m Izzy! I am i-teachers’ Talent Development Officer (but have had several roles since starting my journey at i-teachers which I will talk about later!). I was born and bred in Manchester – and don’t think I will ever leave! After leaving college in 2016 I spent some time working in investments before deciding that I wanted to get myself a degree. Last year I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a 1st class honours degree in International Business Management (with placement). I’m a big fan of going out for brunch, going for long walks, eating Italian food, going to the gym, buying trainers, spending time with my friends and I LIVE for going on holiday to anywhere hot!

Why did you choose your role?

I actually started my role at i-teachers as a placement student in 2020. My university course had a 12 month placement on it and after a lot of stress due to the UK lockdown, I secured a placement as a Compliance & Sales Trainee. After my placement year, I continued to support the team part time during my final year at uni – mostly supporting their marketing activities. Since graduating, I have been employed as a Marketing and Compliance officer – covering my colleagues compliance role whilst they have been on maternity leave. I will soon be starting my new role as Talent Development Officer – which I can’t wait for! The role will see me in control of the business’ marketing activities (social media, blog writing, building links with universities etc.). My passion definitely lies in marketing and creativity, so I can’t wait to build my role and support my colleagues in finding the best talent for the most amazing roles.

Why i-teachers?

When applying for placement roles back in 2020, i-teachers really stood out to me mostly because of their culture. They really gave off the vibe that they are a true ‘family’ – which is definitely what I have experienced in my time here. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging. I also have loved the feeling of freedom I have had working at i-teachers. I have been able to really explore which parts of the business I have enjoyed and have been given so many opportunities to get involved.

However, I would say my favourite thing about working at i-teachers has been being surrounded by people who are genuinely passionate about what they do. Nothing is ever too much to ask and their passion for the graduates and teachers they work with is unmatched.

Tell us something interesting about yourself!

I’d say I have a couple of random facts about myself that not many people know! Firstly, some of the really random jobs I did before working at i-teachers include working in a barbers, a sunbed shop and in the directors box at my dads favourite football club. Also, I have a tattoo of my star sign (Leo) which is extremely meaningful to me.

Finally, tell us your favourite joke!

I am the queen of a dad joke and this is one of my dads very own…

What is the difference between a fish and a piano?

You can tune a piano but you can’t tuna fish…
