This past week we at i-teachers were delighted to welcome our new South East London consultant Emma to our team! Emma shone in her interview and we instantly knew that she would be a fantastic addition to the team.
As a consultant for the South East London area, Emma will be looking to find the very best graduates eager to enter a career in education, and find a role in which they will be able to display their subject knowledge and improve their understanding and teaching techniques in a classroom and school environment.
Emma’s first week as a new consultant at i-teachers has been busy! She had the opportunity to join our Manchester consultant Holly at a careers fair at University of Manchester. Emma and Holly talked to Psychology graduates about the possible SEN roles available to them once they have completed their degree. At i-teachers we are able to offer a variety of roles to children and students with additional behavioural needs, for example SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant or Graduate Behaviour Mentor positions; which offer graduates a real opportunity to develop their understanding of how to support young people with additional needs inside a school based environment.
Following the trip to the University of Manchester, Emma also attended a careers fair for Mathematic students at the University of Birmingham with Natalie, giving these students information and possible options of roles that they could progress into upon the completion of their degrees. These roles on offer to students include Graduate Teaching Assistant roles for their respective subjects, as well as STEM teaching assistant positions in which graduates are able to offer academic support to students across the STEM curriculum.
After visiting both University’s, Emma had a real indication of the type of graduate that we at i-teachers look for, and was able to have a number of conversations with students passionate about a career in education.
We asked Emma how she found her first week;
“I’ve had a fantastic start to my new beginning at i-teachers! There has been a lot to learn but I am excited to start talking to potential candidates and schools in the South East London area. The team have been so welcoming and I feel part of the team already. The fairs were a great way of meeting potential new candidates and learning more about our team i-teachers.”
Everyone at i-teachers is delighted to have Emma join the team and wish her the best of luck in her new role!
Welcome to i-teachers Emma!
