Job Description – SEN/SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant

  • Working with a variety of students with complex needs e.g. Downs Syndrome, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Speech, Language and Communication difficulties, ADHD and Physical disabilities.
  • Supporting the teacher with alternative education preparation and delivery of lessons – you may also be required to closely record student progress via online platforms throughout the day
  • Supporting students with transitioning from different activities e.g. changing classroom, school trips, and arrival/home time.
  • Supportive staff who will help you through your journey
  • Long-term role, no daily supply
  • £375-450 per week (term-time only)

Person Specification – SEN/SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant

  • Must be a Graduate, preferably from a top university
  • 2:1 or above (Psychology degree would be advantageous)
  • Experience working with SEN/SEMH students or in another relevant setting e.g Health and Social care
  • Aspirations to eventually become a Teacher/Educational psychologist
  • Patient, engaging, and attentive personality
