Graduate Pastoral Mentor

Graduate Pastoral Mentor – The School + Role:

  • Based in Southwark, SE17
  • Wonderful staff who are committed to securing the future of their pupil’s achievements
  • Chance to work for a diverse, friendly secondary school who celebrate pupil ambitions and differences
  • Plan and deliver 1:1 learning, and intervention sessions
  • May include liaising with parents/guardians or social services

Graduate Pastoral Mentor – The Benefits:

  • Full time, paid position (term time only) £425-£450 per week
  • Close by to Elephant and Castle station
  • Chance to be a role model and mentor to vulnerable students
  • This role may lead on to Teacher Training or further training with the school
  • Learn how to teach in a challenging environment before committing to PGCE/Teacher training

Graduate Pastoral Mentor – Personal Specification

  • 2:1 or above in any subject
  • Good A-Levels
  • Be able to calmly deal with challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Assertive, empathetic, and engaging personality
  • Some previous experience working with young pupils, SEMH students/children is essential
  • Prior experience working in education is also vital
