Pastoral Support Manager – The role

  • Pastoral Support manager
  • This is an incredibly rewarding role where you can make a real difference to our students.
  • You will be supporting Year Leads and other Pastoral Leaders by facilitating students’ academic, social and pastoral development.
  • You will achieve this by maintaining student discipline, promoting good attendance and providing students with high levels of pastoral care whilst educating them on the importance of adherence to the Academy’s rules for students.
  • You will create good relationships with parents to build preventative and early intervention strategies, empowering them to get the most out of the education opportunities and services available to them.

Pastoral Support Manager – Person specification

  • 2:1 degree in relevant degree, e.g. Psychology, Education studies etc.
  • Approachable in manner with a professional approach to others
  • Supportive and empathetic with the gravitas to manage and motivate students
  • Tenacious, organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Able to work on own initiative and constructively as part of a pastoral support manager team
  • Able to maintain a flexible approach to work and can remain calm under pressure.
  • Willing to take responsibility for, and respect, the necessity of working confidentially.
