Inclusion Teaching Assistant – Autism Support

An incredible primary schools in Shirley are looking for a caring, compassionate, and dedicated graduate to assist in their Autism alternative provision unit. The role involves supporting the class teacher and other members of the teaching team in providing and promoting an environment suitable for the development of children, with the focus of supporting a specific pupils with autism during various stages of development in order to help them attain their full potential.

Inclusion Teaching Assistant – Autism Support – The Role:

  • Working in the Autism alternative provision unit of a mainstream primary school
  • Plan, deliver and run intervention sessions as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Tailor and adapt to specific student’s needs
  • Supporting pupils with Autism
  • Communicate effectively with both staff and parents
  • Immediate start

Inclusion Teaching Assistant – Autism Support – Person Specification

  • 2:1 or above degree in a core subject or Psychology
  • Strong academic background prior to university
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Experience working with people with additional needs, specifically autism
  • Compassionate and caring
  • Passionate about learning & education
