Attendance Officer

An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to ensure the safety and wellbeing of learners as an Attendance Officer.

The successful candidate will work under the Head of Personal Development, Behaviours and Attitudes, and will help the school to raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality. You will be supporting children and their families in a positive, inclusive way ensuring all statutory responsibilities are met.

Attendance Officer – The Role:

  • Full-time long-term attendance officer role
  • Paid £400-£450/week
  • Responsible for establishing the reason for non-attendance
  • Making assessments and agreeing plans for facilitating return to school using appropriate strategies within specified timescales
  • Initiate appropriate legal action with Education Welfare Service (EWS) to ensure the school is carrying out its statutory responsibility in respect of learners,
  • Creating reports and submitting data to the DFE and appropriate bodies, to ensure the school is fully compliant at all times.
  • Using SIMS database

Attendance Officer – Applicant Requirements:

  • Minimum 2:1 degree in any subject
  • Have experience of supporting learners in a school environment
  • Previous administrative experience
  • Knowledge of school attendance legislation
  • Passionate about supporting academic success as well as the physical and emotional welfare of young people
