Have you recently graduated with a Psychology degree and have a passion to work with primary school children with Special Educational Needs as a SEN teaching assistant?

Do you have experience working with students with PMLD/ASD/Down Syndrome/ SEMH and would like to gain further experience in a primary school in Manchester for the rest of the academic year?

This fantastic Specialist primary school found in Manchester are seeking an SEN teaching assistant that can support their children starting in September.

SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Work closely with the SENCo and class teacher
  • Support students with special educational needs – PMLD/ASD/SEMH/Down Syndrome
  • Earn up to £325 – £375 per week, term time
  • Full-time, long-term position
  • Start ASAP – work for the full academic year in one school
  • Ideal post before taking up teacher training/educational psychology
  • Specialist school in Manchester
  • Low pupil numbers – more tailored 1:1
  • Ongoing training and support
  • Close to excellent transport links – Train station over the road!

Person specification – SEN Teaching Assistant

  • You must have a 2:2 or above degree, in any subject
  • Psychology/Education/Counselling degrees are preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential
  • Resilient, patient and empathetic towards children’s needs
