For this exciting opportunity to become an SEN teaching assistant you must have achieved at least a 2:1 or above in your Psychology degree. School based experience is not essential, as long as you have worked with SEN and children previously and feel that you can transfer those skills. You must have a resilient and determined personality in order to make an impact children’s learning.

In this role you will work closely with the class teachers, SENCo, parents/carers and outside organisations. You will ensure that the children are making progress and reaching their full potential. You will work with children on a 1:1 basis to make the curriculum accessible, you will tailor activities to suit their individual needs.

You will help the children interact with other pupils and you will ensure that you bring a positive approach to their day in school. You will work closely alongside the SENCo in supporting the needs of the pupil, enabling them to make progress with their learning and be happy whilst in school.
