Are you a recent graduate and have previous experience working with SEN students?

Are you looking for paid experience in a brilliant school and have a passion for students social and academic development?

Do you want to support SEN students in a warm and welcoming school environment, with a supportive SLT team in the heart of Newcastle?

This school is looking for a supportive and enthusiastic graduate to become a 1:1 Autism Mentor!

1:1 Graduate Autism Mentor – Key Information

  • Full time, long-term role
  • Based in Newcastle
  • Excellent transport links
  • £350 – £450 per day, term-time only
  • Highly experienced and supportive teaching staff
  • Gain valuable experience as a 1:1 Graduate Autism Mentor

1:1 Graduate Autism Mentor – The Role

  • 1:1 Graduate Autism Mentor role
  • Work 1:1 with a students and enable access to learning
  • Assist the Class Teacher in management of students
  • Help pupils focus on tasks throughout lessons
  • Provide support for students with SEND
  • Record pupil progress and provide relevant feedback to Teachers

1:1 Graduate Autism Mentor – Person Specification

  • Autism Mentor – graduate position
  • Ideally a minimum 2:1 in Psychology
  • Good academic background – A-levels
  • Patient and supportive personality
  • SEN experience is essential
  • Be able to build a supportive and secure environment for students
  • Aspirations to work in education
