Learning Support Assistant – Hetton-Le-Hole – Full Time – Secondary – Sep 23 Start
A fantastic secondary school based in Hetton-Le-Hole is looking to find a hard-working, outgoing and naturally engaging Learning Support Assistant to join their wonderful SEN department for the full academic year beginning in September 2023.
In this role as a Learning Support Assistant, you will be providing excellent academic, social and emotional support to children with special educational needs across the schools KS3 & KS4 department through vital 1:1 support sessions based inside and out of the classroom.
You will be paid £86 per day during term time only, with a FREE subject enhancement knowledge course on topics such as SEN, Mental Health and Managing Challenging Behaviour in the classroom. The role is a Monday to Friday position based in a warm and welcoming secondary school for the full academic year.
Learning Support Assistant – Role Information:
- Full time – Monday to Friday role
- One secondary school for full academic year
- Located in Hetton-Le-Hole (DH5)
- Paid £420 – £430 per week during term time only
- Free access to online CPD college course based in education
- Planning and conducting 1:1 support sessions for children with SEN
- Analysing and supporting students with topics they struggle with
- Being patient and supportive throughout the school day

Learning Support Assistant – Applicant Requirements:
- Incoming 2023 Psychology, Education or Neuroscience based graduate
- Strong academic background
- Prior experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring or volunteering
- Naturally supportive and engaging personality
- Passionate about providing all-round support to young people
- Ability to develop instant rapport with students
- Good organisation & communication skills
