A warm and welcoming secondary school based in Gateshead is looking to find a naturally proactive, outgoing and dedicated Learning Support Mentor to provide vital 1:1 support to vulnerable students within their Year 11 year group in preparation for their GCSE exams.

Learning Support Mentor – Role Information:

• Monday to Friday role
• Full academic year – September 2023 start
• 30am – 15.00pm working hours
• Paid £440 per week during term time
• Working with students across Year 11 department
• Planning and conducting 1:1 & small group support sessions
• Creating engaging and fulfilling academic experience
• Developing vital rapport with students
• FREE access to multiple online CPD college course
• Interviewing for role at start of new academic year

Learning Support Mentor – Applicant Requirements:

• Minimum 2:1 2023 University subject graduate
• Strong academic background
• Prior experience working with young people
• Passionate about a career utilising your degree knowledge
• Naturally warm and engaging personality
• Ability to build and develop immediate rapport with young people
• Good organisation and communication skills

Learning Support Mentor – The School:

• Secondary school
• Small number of students – Classes no bigger than 10
• Tight knit school teaching community
• Located in Gateshead (NE2)
• Mixture of newly qualified and experienced teachers
