Academic Learning Mentor – Redbridge Borough IG3

Are you a confident graduate with a 2.1 degree or above, who is keen to earn money whilst gaining experience within the education sector, perhaps prior to training to teach?

Do you have an interest in working with young people, with a particular emphasis on supporting disadvantaged young people to reach their potential?

Academic Learning Mentor Specifications:

  • Graduate with a 2.1 or above
  • Ideally a degree in a core subject, others may be considered
  • High-achieving graduate with strong A Levels
  • Committed to a role in education
  • Some previous experience working with young people
  • Aspiring to become a teacher
  • Looking to earn whilst gaining invaluable experience

Academic Learning Mentor – The role:

  • Supporting students who are disadvantaged
  • Planning & delivering intervention sessions
  • Monitoring progress & analysing data
  • Building rapport with hard to reach students
  • Liaising with other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • 1:1 and small group sessions
  • Occasionally working with children who have SEN or EAL
