ASD Support Assistant

An incredible primary schools in Shirley are looking for a caring, compassionate, and dedicated graduate to assist in their Autism alternative provision unit. The successful candidate will have knowledge, understanding and commitment to work closely with the class teacher, provide support for the child promoting independence, encourage inclusion and access to the curriculum and learning resources.

ASD Support Assistant – The Role:

  • Working in the Autism alternative provision unit of a mainstream primary school
  • Plan, deliver and run intervention sessions as a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Tailor and adapt to specific student’s needs
  • Supporting pupils with Autism
  • Communicate effectively with both staff and parents
  • Immediate start

ASD Support Assistant – Benefits:

  • £300 – £350 weekly term time rate
  • No Supply – SEN Teaching Assistant based in one school for the remainder of the academic year

ASD Support Assistant – Person Specification

  • 2:1 or above degree in a core subject or Psychology
  • Strong academic background prior to university
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Experience working with people with additional needs, specifically autism
  • Compassionate and caring
  • Passionate about learning & education
