To be considered for this EAL Teaching Assistant opportunity you must have the following:
- 1st or 2:1 degree – Russell Group (preferable) in a core subject
- Significant EAL teaching experience
- Ability to speak more than one language (Punjabi preferable)
- A patient and supportive manner
In this rewarding EAL Teaching Assistant opportunity you would be supporting groups of pupils from reception to Year 6. The aim of this role is to ensure that all students, no matter their mother tongue, are offered the best education through your support.
The ideal EAL Teaching Assistant must have significant experience of planning for and teaching groups of EAL pupils in primary schools alongside assessing the specific language needs of EAL pupils. Excellent spoken English, literacy and numeracy skills are a must and you need to have the ability to speak one or more other languages spoken in the local community (e.g. Punjabi).
Good Knowledge & significant experience of teaching the English National Curriculum in schools would be required for this EAL Teaching Assistant role and you would need to have good English, literacy and numeracy skills.
