If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join an outstanding secondary school in Manchester as an Education Support Assistant.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Education Support Assistant to support 11-16 year olds across multiple year groups in a range of subjects. This is a full-time position, starting immediately, and continuing until the end of the academic year. As an Education Support Assistant, you will play a key role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment, supporting young people’s development and education.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assist in planning and delivering engaging lessons and activities that promote the physical, social, and emotional development of young learners.
– Work closely with the class teacher and other staff to support young people’s individual needs, ensuring each child receives high-quality care and education.
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging curiosity and development through creative play and structured learning activities.
– Provide targeted support to young people with additional needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensure progress.
– Monitor and assess young people’s progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
– Promote positive behaviour management strategies and ensure a safe, happy classroom environment.
Essential Requirements:
– Teaching Assistant Qualification or a relevant Degree level qualification or equivalent experience working with young people.
– Experience in supporting the learning and development of young people in early years settings.
– A valid enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
– A minimum of grade 4/C in both English and Maths.
– Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, term time only).
– Confidence, ambition, and passion for working with young people.
– Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
– Applications are welcome from teachers looking to step back from a full teaching role or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) seeking further classroom experience.
